About Us

Island Tribe represents a collective of individuals who share similar values and embrace a lifestyle centered around holistic living. Our philosophy encompasses the principles of slow fashion, wellness, and spiritual consciousness, fostering a sense of community and unity within our Tribe. Through our brand, Island Tribe, we promote sustainable practices and advocate for nature preservation while honoring artisan global craftsmanship.

Nestled in the Desert city of Palm Springs, California, Island Tribe stands as an enchanting destination that seamlessly blends fashion and wellness. This visionary brand was brought to life by the creative minds of Angeline Hayling, a renowned designer, stylist, and author, as well as "OD" Odero, a polymath designer,  photographer and mental health advocate. Inspired by their extensive global travels, rich cultural experiences, and the essence of life's elements, Island Tribe encapsulates a captivating fusion of influences. With its unique blend of fashion and wellness, Island Tribe invites you to embark on a transformative journey of style, self-expression, and holistic well-being.

Slow Fashion Movement

Island Tribe is driven by the belief that fashion has the power to bring about positive change. We are committed to transforming the fashion industry by embracing the principles of slow fashion and advocating for manufacturing practices that prioritize human sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Our collections are created with a focus on eco-friendliness and sustainability. We use sustainable or natural fibers and follow a made-to-order approach, as well as producing in small batches to minimize waste. By adopting these practices, we strive to reduce the negative impact of fashion on the environment.

To further support our commitment to sustainability, we have established a fair-trade partnership with global artisans. For instance, we collaborate with artisans in Bali, Indonesia, to source organic bamboo fabrics, ensuring the use of eco-friendly materials. This partnership not only promotes the preservation of traditional craftsmanship but also supports the local community.

In line with our values, our collections are primarily designed and manufactured in California. This allows us to contribute to the local economy, create employment opportunities, and foster community development. By investing in our local community, we aim to stimulate economic growth while adhering to our principles of sustainability.

At Island Tribe, we strive to change the way fashion is made and consumed. Through our commitment to slow fashion, eco-friendly practices, fair-trade partnerships, and community engagement, we aim to create a positive impact on both the fashion industry and the world we live in.

 Advocacy

Are you aware that the fashion industry is widely recognized as one of the most polluting industries globally, with fast fashion contributing to the depletion of Earth's natural resources and generating excessive waste in landfills? As a sustainable brand, Island Tribe actively addresses these concerns by making a significant contribution to indigenous forest restorations on a global scale. With every purchase, Island Tribe plants trees, supporting reforestation efforts and helping to combat the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

Human Sustainability

Island Tribe recognizes the significance of a harmonious connection between the mind, body, and soul for achieving a well-balanced life. Throughout the years, Island Tribe has cultivated a vibrant community, referred to as the "Tribe," which deeply appreciates the transformative and healing power of nature. Furthermore, Island Tribe promotes inner self-discovery and advocates for human connectivity through various community events. By curating healing experiences, retreats, and festivals in Palm Springs, California, Island Tribe provides a welcoming space for the collective to rejuvenate, express creativity, and find empowerment.
